Akhila’s Search for Identities in Ladies Coupe

This paper tries to do an in-depth study of Akhila’s doings and thinking taking some of the
beliefs of existentialists into account. They believe that human being is free to do whatever

endeavours to find if Akhila lives a completely authentic and real life chasing her dreams,
desires, and aspirations, or she lives a life which society has designated for her – a life where
her personal happiness has no importance, a life where she is known by the quality and
quantity of sacrifice she makes for others. It also attempts to discover if Akhila keeps on
oscillating between her being and becoming.
